Beans and cornbread?
Gotta’ 2 lb. bag of pinto beans in the cabinet and I’m thinkin’ beans and cornbread right? Ok my question…..how much will 2 lbs. of dry beans end up being by the time they are cooked?
I mean I know they sell up as they absorb water and all. So approximately, in quarts or gallons or what ever if I cook the whole bag how much can I expect to end up with? Hey I’m open to any good recipes to. I have a big red onion and some ham hocks and some pork neck bones.
That will be a lot – about 2 gallons worth. I always eyeballed the amount of water to beans, but there should be directions on the bag. You have all you need except salt & pepper to taste.
